The facts.
- Chersus
- KER-sus, hard C, as in classical Latin - not the English "cher-sus." ...but we use a very strong Dutch accent.
- AI workflows for developers. Developers chain small, purpose-built AI models into one request, so the work around their AI features runs without a large general model or servers of their own.
- October 2026
- Goodfolk, Amsterdam
- 16 operations in three kinds - detect, extract and transform - plus relay, the model call
- Billed per character: the characters sent in plus the characters handed back, whichever operations are combined.
- European models on a European stack, no US hyperscalers, across 26 EU cities. Chersus keeps no content, and every response carries a hash-only audit trace.
Numbers you can quote
- 16operations, plus relay
- 26EU cities
Boilerplates.
Chersus: AI workflows for developers. Small models, chained, in one request.
Chersus: AI workflows for developers. Developers chain small, purpose-built AI models into one request, so the work around their AI features runs without a large general model or servers of their own.
The models are European, processing happens in the EU and no content is kept. Chersus is built by Goodfolk in Amsterdam.
Chersus: AI workflows for developers. Most AI features rest on many small jobs, like checking text, reading it, rewriting it, handing it to a model. Until now, teams sent each job to a large general model, paying per token and sharing their text with its provider, or ran their own small models, with servers to maintain and people on call.
Chersus is the third option. Developers chain small, purpose-built models into one request and, when they need a large model, relay the result to the one they choose. The models are European, processing happens in the EU, no content is kept, and there is nothing to host.
Chersus is built by Goodfolk, a software studio in Amsterdam.
Three lockups, one mark.
Horizontal lockup
Headers, email signatures, slide masters, partner walls.
Vertical lockup
Square placements and footers with room.
Badge
Avatars, app icons, anything cropped round. It carries no wordmark on purpose - at avatar size it would be unreadable.
The mark
On its own, once the name already appears nearby - never as a stand-in for the wordmark.
Rules
- Lockups are artwork, not type. Scale the file; never set the word in a font and match by eye.
- Prussian on light grounds, white on Prussian or other dark grounds, ink where color is unavailable.
- One flat fill. Never outlined, rotated, mirrored or given a shadow.
- Minimum mark height 20px. Below that, use the badge.
- Every file is outlined vector geometry, not live text - no font needs to be installed for it to render, on a partner's laptop or in an email client.
The palette, as shipped.
These are the values the site ships. Prussian carries the brand, and signal yellow is kept for action: about once per screen, always with dark text on it.
- Prussian#003153Brand. Headings, dark panels, footer, the mark.
- Columbia#B6C6D3Support. Highlights, tags, the map.
- Blue tint#E4E9EDLight panels and inline code chips.
- Signal yellow#F4C84AAction only. About once per screen; dark text on it.
- Stone#F2F1ECPage background.
- Paper#FCFCFACards.
- Sand#E8E7E1Quiet fills and hovers.
- Ink#0B1D2EBody text, text on yellow.
- Slate#3D4F60Captions and muted text.
- Terminal#062238Code panes only.
- Mint#12A594Pass, healthy, live states.
- Coral#E5484DFlagged, blocked, error states.
Type
- Sora
- Headings. The same geometric face the wordmark was drawn from.
- IBM Plex Sans
- Body copy, chosen for full EU-language coverage and a true italic.
- IBM Plex Mono
- Labels, code, and status text - the register developers already read documentation in.
All three are open source. Never set body copy in Sora, and never set a heading in Plex.
Why Chersus.
Chersus takes its name from the historical genus of the Mediterranean land tortoise, rooted in the ancient Greek word chersos - solid ground. It's also a nod to the tortoise and the hare: the hare sprints ahead, loses focus, and falls asleep, while the tortoise just keeps moving and wins.
Heavy generative models sprint in bursts, bill you for the spectacle, and doze off on your latency budget. Our micro-models just keep moving... except that they're super fast.
News.
- Chersus opens early access, in batches, with 16 operations plus relay, saved workflows called policies, and a rate that starts free and falls as volume grows.
